Luxury Journeys into Africa

Have you heard the latest? Federal Airlines are updating their flight schedules as of 1 April 2015. The Madikwe shuttle will be able to handle more tourists going on safari! This means that there will be increased capacity, with new flights allowing for increased options during the peak safari season in South Africa. This opens the airways to greater connectivity options.
“Madikwe Game Reserve is currently the fifth largest game reserve and is also one of the lesser- known parks in South Africa. This makes it a hidden- gem as it is regarded as one of the best conservation areas in Africa and offers the Big 5 in a 680 km2 park (750 km2 including newly incorporated privately owned land). The park offers a number of luxurious lodges as well as community lodges in malaria-free zone. The land where Madikwe now stands was previously used as farming land. The poor soil meant that farming was mostly unsuccessful and the South African government then decided that it would best be used as a national park to help economically uplift the disadvantaged area…
Passengers bound for Madikwe will now get there earlier when landing on early inbound connections.
In addition, current connections will not be affected by this upgrade – Tswalu and Rovos Rail schedules as well as the Federal Airlines Lowveld and Kruger Shuttle Connections will remain in place.

Skukuza Feeder Service Update:
It is a pity that the SA Airlink and Federal Airlines joint venture did not come to light – this means that the SA Airlink Skukuza operation will no longer include the Federal Airlines feeder service as planned.
But Federal Airlines will continue to provide shuttle flights to and from each of the lodges in the greater Sabi Sand / Kruger region through their own private lounge at OR Tambo. Flights from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport will also continue.
Take a look at this flight schedule to see for yourself:

To keep their clients happy, Federal Airlines has upgraded their private lounge and the whole aircraft fleet. When you enter the revamped lounge area, you know that you are entering the gateway to the bushveld, about to embark on a safari of a lifetime in South Africa’s Kruger National Park! Settle into plush couches and armchairs while choosing something delightful to eat from the catering stations that are topped up all day with fresh food and drink. Federal Airlines wants their passengers to be comfy from the start of their journey to the end.
From the lounge, enter the refurbished fleet of planes – new paintwork and luxury interiors add value to your journey as one of Federal Airlines passengers. This is a world class service for those who care about seeing Africa’s wildlife. Guests remain relaxed as they make their scenic journey to some of Africa’s best game lodges where the Big Five and other fascinating wildlife roam.
“Federal Airlines are officially the only operator that allow for multiple aircraft with twelve seat configuration in our Cessna Caravan 208 fleet.”
