Less luxury, more attention to detail makes this Botswana Accommodation a good choice for travellers who care. More visitors descend upon Chobe at one time than at secluded camps in the Okavango Delta which can be daunting for visitors looking for a quiet Botswana Safari. But they will be enlightened by the incredible numbers of animals gathering around water sources during June to October.
Guests will settle into a room with a view easily – 11 solid, thatched, comfortable chalets look over an unusual landscape of water and floodplains and grasslands. Rooms are separated by bushy areas acting as screens but without blocking the views and one family chalet boasts a fun loft room for two extra people.
Recently added air-conditioning adds to ceiling fans to cool rooms in summer. En-suite bathrooms feature showers and his and her basins. Sliding doors lead out onto a wooden patio with chairs and tea and coffee can be made in the rooms.
Muchenje Safari Lodge has enhanced the views by building a large, split-level, thatched, wood and stone main area where guests can sit all day marvelling at the sites below them. A central bar is a focal point near a large dining table for group meals. A small library offers relaxation and solitude while guests can buy books at the curio shop.
