Set against a backdrop of palm-fringed beaches and dramatic mountains, with glorious vistas of the crystal clear waters of Lake Malawi, Chintheche Inn is a refreshing holiday destination for families on a quest to enjoy a beachside holiday in Malawi. Positioned on the northern shore, south of Nkata Bay, the Inn has a magnificent and comprehensive white sandy beach as well as extensive grounds with many fine indigenous trees.
Lake Malawi accommodation at Chintheche Inn is in 10 well-appointed rooms and 1 suite, decorated in bright colours using local crafts. There is also a cottage that sleeps up to 5 guests with 2 bedrooms and a shared bathroom.
All 10 rooms are positioned in a row overlooking the beach and are entered from the back and opens out to the front through French doors, onto a small veranda with deck chairs. En-suite facilities include includes a shower, single basin and flush toilet. To ensure comfort, coffee and tea making facilities, fans, mosquito nets and wall-mounted safes are equipped in each room.
The suite offers the same amenities as the other rooms with the added luxury of a separate lounge and single daybed which can be converted into a bed for a child to sleep in.
Chintheche Inn has a campsite that is set further apart from the lodge and also has a swimming pool that provides respite when the lake is rough. Guests can make use of the loungers and thatched umbrellas dotted on the pristine white beach.
The social hub of this unpretentious lodge in Malawi comprises a lounge and bar area as well as a dining area that opens out onto a covered terrace with individual tables. Weather permitting, dining is usually served alfresco Guests are spoilt for choice with a myriad of activities on offer at the Lake Malawi beach lodge. Expert local guides are always on hand to lead birding walks in the area and can arrange fishing with the local fisherman.
