Uganda

Uganda tourism is a booming industry, thanks to its biodiversity and unblemished natural beauty. Book your next safari to this Garden of Eden and explore its breathtaking landscapes and unravel the many hidden gems within.
  • Tailor an itinerary that takes you to one or more of the ten national parks in the country
  • Uganda is home to thirteen primates, including the chimpanzee and over half of the world’s rare mountain gorilla
  • There’s everything in store for everyone, from wildlife viewing, hiking, boat trips, beaches and much more
  • Spot the classic Big Five in the Queen Elizabeth National Park and witness the rare tree climbing lions

LAIDBACK LIVING ON THE LAKESIDE

As you lie on the white sand beach, palms swaying lazily in the gentle breeze, and your eyes stretching across the infinite blue - you could be forgiven for thinking you are on a tropical island utopia. Work up a tan on the shores of the famous Lake Victoria where many a tourist has hooked the giant Nile perch and the Nile Tilapia. Make sure to include a trip to Lake Bunyonyi and have your breath taken away by the sheer beauty of this watery wonderland and its forested islands.

GORILLA TREKKING

While the prospects of seeing Africa’s wildlife is on everyone’s agenda when they book safari holidays, many miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime chance of hanging out with our some of our primate cousins. Include the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in your itinerary so you can spend some quality time with these beautiful creatures. However, make sure you don’t have a contagious disease like flu and such as gorillas are very susceptible.

WHAT TO LOVE ABOUT UGANDA

  • BIRD LOVER’S PARADISE: Uganda is a mecca for birding enthusiasts, not surprising though as it has over a thousand recorded bird species – some of which are found nowhere else in the world! This makes it the richest African birding destination.
  • CHIMPANZEES: Although gorilla trekking is top of everyone who visits list, chimpanzee trekking should be right up there too. Kibale National Park has the biggest population of chimps on earth and is the best place to observe them.
  • LUSH GREEN LANDSCAPE: From the forests to the banana, tea and coffee plantations, green is definitely the prevailing colour in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is home to over 1000 species of plants and 200 different types of trees. Many are endemic to the region.
  • PEOPLE: Friendly, hospitable and curious, the people of Uganda are welcoming and curious as well. You'll often hear the word "Muzungu" (white people) as you enter a village. Village elders are happy to show you around whilst school children stand around and giggle.
  • LAKES, RIVERS AND WATERFALLS: Water in many forms can be seen everywhere in Uganda, some of it even being sourced by the mighty Nile River. With it's rolling green hills and lakes, Uganda strikes a beautiful pose.
