Onguma Tented Camp in Namibia is a place of safari chic, earthiness and sophisticated relaxation! In Herero it means “the place you don’t want to leave.”
Picture a friendly tented camp complete with world class facilities and prime game viewing opportunities on the eastern border of Etosha National Park – this is Onguma Tented Camp where the chance to see the rare black-faced impala and amazing gemsbok is not to be missed.
Situated on the private Onguma Reserve, guests have the choice of game viewing both inside this reserve and within the greater Etosha National Park. Seven elegant tents offer luxury accommodation and excellent game viewing.
Linked by gravel pathways, all tents feature raised wooden decks with some shade and lovely outside seating areas, sliding glass doors and large mesh windows. Fans, tea and coffee stations, animal skin rugs, walk in stone showers and large free-standing bathtubs with amazing views of the bush make this accommodation well worth choosing!
Onguma Tented Camp is designed around a waterhole, and facilities at the main camp include an outdoor shower, swimming pool, lounge, dining area and bar – all decorated in tasteful African decor, with an emphasis on style and comfort.
The wealth of game to be seen in the Etosha area includes elephant, giraffe, gemsbok, springbok, red hartebeest, eland, wildebeest, zebra, lion, leopard and cheetah. Activities revolve around game viewing - nature walks, safari drives, bird watching - or sheer relaxation at the waterhole in the camp. No self drives are possible inside Onguma Reserve.
Guests can enjoy delicious meals in the dining area or out on the deck. Sip a sundowner at the camp bar – wind down after a full day of game viewing!
Follow the walkway to the infinity pool, an attractive area where beanbags and a few sun loungers entice guests to relax and swim all day.
