Imagine a tree house in the bush of Namibia away from the crowds? Imagine a place where mingling with the birds in a tree top canopy is the best thing to do? This is Onguma Tree Top Camp, built on stilts in the large shady trees of Namibia’s Onguma Game Reserve. Small and intimate, this unique holiday venue overlooks a stunning waterhole and is ideal for families and small groups of people travelling together.
Only four thatched tree houses with canvas walls offer accommodation for eight people. Interior decor blends with the trees outside and a private balcony adds more space, into the trees – a place from which to watch the animals at the watering hole in front of the camp. Central beds, mosquito nets and outside showers complete the picture! Watch animals during a shower at night under the stars!
Listen to the animals move about below the Onguma tree houses at night: jackals and other nocturnal species. In the broad sunlight of the day, see giraffe, zebra, antelope of all kinds and lion coming to quench their thirst. Spend time with binoculars ogling the incredible birds from the private tree house patio.
The main area has a dining room and a deck with views over the waterhole where a lounge and interactive kitchen enable visitors to socialise and chill. There is also free Wi-Fi. Guests walk to this area via raised boardwalks before indulging in really top class food. The mini draw bridge is lifted up at night to stop any nightly animal visits! Open air seating around a log fire provides a place to share stories while sipping a night cap and learning more from the staff.
