Day 1: Cape Town Station - Platform 23
Depart from platform 23 at Cape Town Station at 11h00. Travel past Worcester and at 18h00 arrive at Matjiesfontein in the Central Karoo. Enjoy a tour of the little village and visit the Matjiesfontein Coffee House where you can savor a fine selection of home-made scones, delicious cake and koeksisters with your cup of tea / coffee. Alternatively visit the Transport Museum on the edge of town where a unique collection of vintage cars, bicycles, a London bus and steam train are on display.
Depart Matjiesfontein at around 19h00. Dress up in your finery and experience fine dining beyond your wildest imagination. Flavoursome Rovos Rail meals and great South African wine.
Day 2: Kimberley - Northern Cape
After a good nights rest, wake up to a fine day of elegant charm. Enjoy a hearty breakfast served in the Victorian-style dining cars.
Upon arrival in Kimberley at around 14hh30, board a bus into the city centre and an excursion of the Kimberley Diamond Mine Museum & Big Hole. Expand your knowledge on the largest man-made excavation in the world and enjoy interactive activities in the museum.
Your train departs again at 16h30 while you enjoy a high tea aboard your luxury locomotive.
Day 3: Pretoria Station
Late breakfast is served till 10h00 and enjoy scenic vies of the goldfields of Witwatersrand enroute to Pretoria, your journeys end. Visit the authentic railway museum at Capital Park Station in Pretoria before moving on to your next destination.
