Offering guests direct access to the dense concentration of wildlife that are found in this remote region year-round, as well as the chance to enjoy walking safaris and fly camping. Established by Paul Oliver in 1992, Oliver’s reflects the glory days of African safaris. The camp has a low-key simplicity enhanced by discreet creature comforts and truly welcoming hosts. Expert guides give you access to the wilderness beyond. In the main area, deep comfy sofas invite you to relax and watch the restless wilderness beyond. Come nightfall, meals are taken communally in the dining room. Whiskies are poured around the campfire and safari tales told late into the night.

Enjoy a fantastic Tanzania holiday experience at Oliver’s Camp is in 1 of 10 deluxe en-suite tents raised on wooden platforms. Each of the thatched tents offers rustic interiors with aesthetic and practical furnishings.The en-suite bathroom facilities are half inside and a half outside the tent, creating a unique experience. A pair of sun loungers invites for a relaxing session with a book in hand or a pair of binoculars for bird watching.
The main mess tent at this Tarangire camp is a cream, open-sided tent overlooking the surrounding bush and is decked with comfortable leather armchairs, reclaimed dhow wood tables and campaign furniture. The dining area is housed in this tent. The campfire area is surrounded by directors’ chairs and is the perfect spot for guests to gather around and exchange notes on the day’s activities.
Guests can choose to stay in the more intimate Little Oliver’s, which is set just 1 km away from Oliver’s Camp with views of the Minyonyo Pools, part of the Tarangire River. This superb camp consists of 5 beautifully appointed tents with viewing decks and both indoor and outdoor showers. The camp’s intimate size makes it ideal for exclusive use by small groups and large families.
Tarangire National Park offers a superb wildlife adventure and the best place to enjoy this is at Oliver’s Camp. One of the very few camps to offer fly-camping and night game drives in the park, this stunning vacation camp affords guests exciting walking safaris, and day game drives as well as family safaris. Oliver’s welcomes a family of 4 and children over 6 years of age. Bush breakfasts and picnics are also available.
